Stressed about Gray hair?
We are worried about the workloads and stress of dealing with them. Stress has become an inevitable part of our modern life and we find ways to overcome it. To keep us safe from the work stress, we take long naps or watch few series or we do read, or we tend to do something that is relaxing. Relaxing videos are getting more attention on Instagram and youtube. Even music apps like Spotify have sections like relaxing, stress relief section. We are that easily vulnerable to stress. All parts of our body get affected, beginning from our head to eyes, our belly even our hair.
Speaking of how our body gets affected, we knew that our hair too gets affected due to stress. People think of them as hair fall. Researchers also have identified that hair turns grey under stress and it automatically gets reversed.
A simple experiment was conducted using 4 volunteers, they were asked to record a journal about their stress at their works, and selected few gray hairs of theirs were monitored. The observation revealed changes in the gray pigmentation when there is an increase or decrease in stress level. One obvious observation is when a person under stress with 5 gray hair highlighted for the study was sent for vacation returned back with those hairs turning black. The research also discovered the molecular changes, that is protein and mitochondrial association for the stress-induced hair color changes.
Various other experimental procedures and tools were developed for these studies. The article also contradicts other researches claiming reversible pigmentation is not possible. Let the search continue. Let's just relax!
