Constant change and a tiny step.

                   Finally a breathing space, realization during these period is that changes are constant , changes never change.  Little steps taken for a healthy environment can also make a better difference. Milk packets:          Recently I came across few articles and posts , that opening the milk packets without cutting off the tip  and just having a slit without separating  the small piece can reduce the number of small plastics entering the soil which never gets decomposed. Karnataka has encouraged citizens in this method. This can be used in any plastic covers we use in our day to day lives.           I hope we could implement this small step.            Comment on if you got any more ideas

For the rapid degradation of bioplastics!

                                    The last article read about the making of plant-based bioplastic mimicking the molecular structure of the spider silk for rigidity and strength. Also, we have previously known the basics of compostable bioplastics which said the compostable time is to be from 90-180 days. Is it possible to reduce the composting period to 2-3 weeks?

Living cells are held together by their proteins in the living environment but fall apart when moved out of the system, was one of the inspiring ideas. With this in mind, the task is to make compostable bioplastics when discarded into the compost pit and exposed to heat, water, and certain controlled condition could degrade within 2 - 3 weeks. The initial step for this begins with the designing of a polymeric film by introducing materials that could be degraded when exposed to this controlled condition. 

Polylactic acid (PLA) is a group of compostable plastic, it is completely degraded into lactic acid which could be used by microbes in the environment, for rapid degradation, the scientist incorporated the enzymes with the ability to etch the polymer on exposing to the right condition to release these enzymes for etching them.

In the process of making such a polymer, these suicidal enzymes are enveloped in random heteropolymers (RHP) and incorporated with the polymer resins. The result proved the technique to be effective and the materials degraded within weeks without even leaving the traces of microplastics. The controlled condition only required a very minor addition of heat and water. Thes RHP incorporation also did not change the characteristics of the bioplastics.
